The short version: Howie removes scam spam from your server. You decide whether to add it, you can remove it anytime, and it can make mistakes, so keep an eye on what it does.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By adding Howie to a Discord server or using it, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you add Howie to a server, you confirm you have permission to do so for that server. If you don't agree, don't add Howie, or remove it.
2. What Howie does
Howie watches messages in channels it can access and looks for signs of scam spam, such as fake giveaways and casino promotions posted by hijacked accounts. When it finds a match, it can delete messages, time out, kick or ban the account, and post a report to a channel your server chooses.
3. Server admins are in charge
You control which permissions and channels Howie gets. Howie uses automated detection, so it can miss scams and it can flag innocent messages. You are responsible for reviewing its actions, reversing any you disagree with and moderating your own community.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Howie to harass, target or unfairly punish people.
- Try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around Howie's detection.
- Use Howie in a way that violates Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, or any law.
5. Availability and changes
Howie is provided free of charge, and we may change, pause or discontinue it, or any feature, at any time. We may also stop providing Howie to any server or person that violates these terms.
6. No warranty
Howie is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including that it will catch every scam, never make a mistake or always be online.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, members, messages or goodwill, that results from using or being unable to use Howie.
8. Not affiliated
Howie is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Discord, MrBeast or Hungry Howie's. All trademarks belong to their owners.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date above. Continuing to use Howie after an update means you accept the new terms.
